This blog is a collaborative effort and it would indeed be wonderful to receive contributions from every one of you to make ChennaiCrafters a more purposeful, focused and creative entity. The core of this blog is to promote craft in Chennai and expand the reach of ChennaiCrafters to beyond the Facebook Group. To get things going, the following ground rules have been laid and will be taken into consideration while reviewing and approving contributions:

  • The contributor should necessarily be part of the ChennaiCrafters Facebook Group
  • Every contribution should have a "single" purpose and provide useful information to the reader. For example :
    • How to to do a certain project
    • Step by Step DIY instruction
    • Where can one get materials for a project
    • Supplies and tools required for making a project
    • Video tutorial
    • And more such posts
  • All posts should be supported by high definition photos (at least 4)
  • The photos should be original and should have not been taken from the Internet
  • All content should be original and not already published elsewhere
    • Google penalizes sites with duplicate content and so this is essential
    • Any inspiration / quote from elsewhere should be necessarily credited to with a link back
  • Photos should not be watermarked and the ownership of the photos will lie with the contributor and relevant credits will be provided
  • No links to the business page, personal blog, or other such entities will be allowed in the post
  • No mention of the business page, personal blog, or other such entities will be allowed in the post
  • The contributor will get an author byline at the end of the post  (Maximum 130 words)
  • The contributor can include a photo (100px x 100px) and a maximum of three links to any of their business page in the byline.
  • Any comments to the post after publishing need to be responded to by the contributor to ensure engagement levels are maintained
  • Content should be for a minimum of 500 words to ensure the post is comprehensive and addresses all aspects of the post
  • The admins have the right to edit / correct content (without affecting the original essence of the post) to ensure grammatical correctness and adherence to the rules
  • The admins have the right to make a collage of the photos (should there be a need) without affecting the essence of the individual photos. This is mostly during instances when the photo width and height is not standard.
  • The admins have the final say in approving content that will be published on the blog
The idea here is not to be strict. But to enable everyone to work within certain set and acceptable boundaries. So do send in your ideas to ChennaiCrafters@gmail.com
